Dutch research institute Emotional Brain is testing two types of drugs to overcome barriers to sexual desire (HSDD) in women. Two drugs that are Lybrido (a combination of testosterone and sildenafil) and Lybridos (a combination of testosterone and buspirone). 

Henrik Rasmussen, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer at the Emotional Brain research cited, Friday (31/05/2013) revealed there are unique aspects of these two types of drugs. 

Another unique aspect of both these pills is that the drug is taken orally (drinking) and started to work between one and six hours later. Comparing with Viagra, the "kick" to the man in about 30 minutes and lasts up to four hours. 

"This will basically allow women to enhance their passion (almost) exactly when they want it, without having to worry about the side effects of long-term consumption of testosterone," said Rasmussen. 

Currently two drugs are still in clinical trials (along with a nasal spray that is meant to increase libido). The researchers hope they may soon approach the Agency for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with the existing data. Emotional Brain writes on its website that they have been prepared so that the drug could be available as early as 2015.
